da casino: New West Ham United boss David Moyes has insisted that the Hammers must improve defensively before thinking about anything else.
da bet7: On Tuesday, the Scot became West Ham’s new manager on a six-month contract following the dismissal of Slaven Bilic.
Moyes arrives in the capital off the back of three disappointing spells with Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland since leaving Everton.
The 54-year-old has taken charge of a team that have the worst defensive record in the Premier League this season having shipped 23 goals in their 11 matches.
Moyes has vowed to excite the West Ham fans with an entertaining brand of football, but has admitted that stopping the flow of goals down the other end is currently at the forefront of his mind.
Moyes told reporters at his first press conference as West Ham boss:
“I’ve been a football supporter all my days and I love to see attacking play and goals. I want it to be entertaining. But that’s no good if you’re shipping in goals every week because you can’t win the games. You have to start defensively.
“All the best teams have the best defences. We have to start from there, try and get a few clean sheets, find out whether three or four at the back is best for us with the players available, and get ourselves bedded down.
“I think we have enough good attacking players to cause teams problems and score goals. Let’s see if we can find a way to stop conceding goals.”
West Ham have not won in the Premier League since beating Swansea City at the end of September, and currently sit down in 18th position in the table.
Moyes’ first game in charge of the Hammers will arrive away to Watford on November 19.
