da casino： Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is a transfer target for Barcelona, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
da leao： The Frenchman was seen as a rare leader for the Gunners this season, as they secured a 4th place finish in the Premier League. Koscielny scored the only goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Newcastle, confirming their place in the Champions League next season.
And now Barcelona are eyeing up Koscielny as a replacement for the ageing Puyol, whose match time is becoming limited.
The La Liga champions, who finished the season with 100 points, have also looked at Thiago Silva, Vincent Kompany and David Luiz, but the Arsenal defender is believed to be an easier option for the Catalan giants.
Koscielny joined the London side in 2010, and has slowly risen to become one of the club’s most important defenders. But it seems the 27-year-old will be contacted by Barcelona, who are looking to strengthen their defence next season.
Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-finals by eventual winners Bayern Munich, who won the tie 7-0 on aggregate. The Bavarian side won the first leg 4-0, before winning 3-0 at the Camp Nou.
Coach Tito Vilanova is desperate to avoid such humiliating defeats again, and has eyed Koscielny as the man to protect their goal further.
