da wazamba: The battle for automatic promotion is nearing it’s conclusion yet it remains harder than ever to predict whether Leeds will be one of those sides. Looking good prior to their loss at home to rivals Sheffield United yesterday, the nature of the Championship campaign makes it hard to gauge, even at this late stage.
da bwin: Currently third in the Championship, Leeds appear to have a very good chance of reaching the Premier League for the first time since 2004 but this is a league where things can change very quickly.
It would be hugely disappointing should they not get promoted this season, having performed so well in Marcelo Bielsa’s first season with the Whites. Leeds will definitely recognise the fact that they need to recruit some players over the summer whether they go up or not and one of those could be Everton’s Muhamed Besic, as they aim to bulk out their midfield with even more options.
Besic, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) is a hard-working midfielder that has been on-loan with Middlesbrough this season and done extremely well to make himself a regular fixture in their midfield.
With 31 appearances in all competitions, two goals and four assists, Besic has proven that he has a number of talents apart from breaking up play and knocking the ball around.
Leeds will be one of many sides to pick up on this and although he may not surge into their starting line-up, would add considerable strength to their squad overall.
Marcelo Bielsa very much appreciates hard-working players and Muhamed Besic is certainly that kind of player as well.
At the age of 26, Besic still has plenty of time left in his footballing career and Leeds would do very well to steal him away from Middlesbrough and acquire him permanently.
Leeds fans, would you back a move for Besic, who you have been previously linked with? Join the discussion by commenting below…
