It was just Williams’ second start for the club, and his first since signing a new long-term contract, but he showed all the hallmarks of a future starting left-back. Ashley Young is currently occupying the starting spot at left-back in Shaw’s absence, and though Solskjaer recently confirmed that the 24-year-old has overcome the worst of his injury, he may have a new challenge to overcome in Williams.
