da 888casino: As reported by The Press and Journal, Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes is set to rest his most important stars for their trip to Rangers on Wednesday, in anticipation of their massive Scottish Cup Final against Celtic.
What’s the story?
da bet vitoria: There’s less than three weeks to go until Aberdeen and Celtic go head-to-head at Hampden in Scottish football’s showpiece fixture. First though there are two league matches.
Aberdeen face Rangers on Wednesday night and then Partick Thistle at the weekend and Derek McInnes doesn’t want to risk injuries to his best players ahead of the clash at the national stadium.
As quoted by The Press and Journal, McInnes said:
“We want to go down to Ibrox and get a result, but we have to go down to Glasgow three times in our final three games over the next fortnight.
“While the other two games are important, the most important is the cup final. We need to make sure we are in tip-top shape for that. We can’t pick up any more injuries with Ryan Jack and Peter Pawlett doubtful for the cup final as things stand.
“We can’t risk any more injuries.”
It seems then that Rangers are set to benefit from a much changed Dons squad at Ibrox on Wednesday. With Aberdeen’s star man this season, Jonny Hayes, also missing through suspension then Pedro Caixinha’s side have a real opportunity to make a statement and follow-up their 3-0 win at Pittodrie with another big win.
Rangers will be looking to finish well above Aberdeen in the league next season and another heavy victory over the Dons could give them more momentum heading into the summer after two victories in two weeks.
